The Upper Makefield Business Association (UMBA) is a non-profit (501(c)3), non-partisan association organized to stimulate interest in the development, promotion and public affairs of the Township and to promote good will and well-being throughout the community.
The profits we raise from the Italian Dinner will put towards the UMBA Scholarship Funds, the UMBA Sunshine Fund and the Upper Makefield Emergency Fund.
UMBA Scholarship Fund
For over 30 years, the Upper Makefield Business Association has provided an annual scholarship award to students in the Bucks County area to assist students in financial need with furthering their achievement of education beyond high school.
The award is designed to help with the cost of books and tuition.
UMBA Sunshine Fund
UMBA has established a Sunshine Fund for the purpose of providing financial assistance for those in our community who have a financial need of a qualifying nature at a time of hardship.
Whether the individual has been injured in a road accident, fallen on hard times or needs help in funding to receive medical treatment, the UMBA Sunshine fund is here to help.
The Upper Makefield Township Emergency Fund is used for the emergency services in the Township.
The Upper Makefield Fire Company serves the majority of the Township, along with the Lingohocken Fire Company. Both are all-volunteer fire companies. St. Mary’s Hospital provides 24/7 emergency service with an ambulance housed at UMFC Station 71 on Taylorsville Road.
